We would like to inform you that we have edited the application guidebook for AO (Self-Recommended Admissions) screening to include our policy on using generative AI. This will take effect for students applying for September 2025 or April 2026 enrollment.

Details:

AO (Self-Recommended Admissions) screening for first-year applicants for September 2025 or April 2026 enrollment

Addition:

Using Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Generative AI can accelerate the process of identifying and solving problems. However, relying too heavily on generative AI is inappropriate because it may become a crutch. By integrating AI tools with your personal background and experience, you can better formulate and refine your ideas. As such, applicants are permitted to use generative AI as an auxiliary study tool when preparing for the AO (Self-Recommended Admissions) screening. However, we will not consider AI-generated application materials (i.e., your statement of purpose, study plan, ways you hope to contribute to SFC, and optional materials) as evidence of an applicant's original work. Please refer to the Admissions Policy for the Faculty of Policy Management and the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies to make a fully informed decision about using AI-generated content.
